Jim Cohen's new CD

Post by Mike Ihde »

After doing all the graphics on Jim's new CD, I finally got to hear it today.

Wow! Beautifully recorded and the players all kicked butt. Jim's playing is stellar as always in the Jazz idiom and the addition of Jimmy Bruno on a few tunes is a nice treat as well.

The big finale with all the pedal steel greats is amazing and worth the price of admission.

Definitely one of Jim's best! Buy it, you'll love it!

Mike I stopped buying steel players CDs because they are all doing things everyone else has done over and over..Jim is one exception..I have all his CDs except this one which I will add ..He is not afraid to be different which I think is the best thing for the Instrument..When I listen to Jim I hear not just a player behind the steel but a true and dedicated " musician" behind it..I may have made my mark in Country music but I have always felt there is only two kinds of music..Good or Bad..Jims is a lot more than just good..

Jim was kind enough to invite me to play on this CD. I've only heard one track and it sounds great. Looking forward to receiving my copy. Nice work Jim!

I listened to it a number of times on my drive back to Arizona and my wife and I enjoyed it immensely. What a great selection of musicians and material. The CD turned out to be a project that Jim is, and should be very proud of.
Jim, thanks you for this great listening pleasure, and your friendship.

Add me to the list of Jim Cohen fans. Jim, I know that this CD was a labor of love and a goal for you. I always enjoy your fluid steel guitar work and your thoughtful improvisations. Well done, lad!
