¿Is there any sound clip on any site where I could hear what a sitar bar sounds like in use?

Listen to Tim Mcgraw's Remember Me. Paul Franklin used a sitar bar on that recording.

It sounds like Leo LeBlanc uses a Sitar Bar on the John Prine song, "Sam Stone". Leo LeBlanc played some great stuff with John Prine.

Im not really looking to hear the sitar bar in context in a song.

I would like to hear some vendors comparison sound file.."This is a lck with bar A and this is the same lick on a Sitar bar"

I don't think there is anything like that around. Maybe someone that has both a regular and sitar bar could record a short clip for comparison for you.

But, you know how Paul Franklin sounds with a regular bar and the licks on the mentioned record will tell you what he sounds like with the sitar bar. It's not a direct one for one comparison but about the only thing available.

For what it's worth, I have been using a Dunlop sitar bar as my main bar for a long time now. I play with the round surface, then for the sitar sound roll the bar slightly so that the flat surface contacts the strings.

This eliminates picking up and putting down (and maybe dropping!) bars.

The Dunlop sounds OK. I think it's a chrome bar.

Try the sitar bar for a semi-dobro sound, and
the sitar sound through a slow phaser is cool ...

Listen to LeeAnn Womack's "I Hope You Dance"--very prominent sitar bar fills in the first verst, into, turns and chorus' by Paul Franklin.

I have been messing around with sitar bars for years, and have had just about everyone ever made and been disappointed in all of them until I bought a Franklin. Paul's Dad makes the best one ever--lightweight, and that seems to be the key. It's killer.

I've tried a couple (NOT including the Frankin) and the one I like best is the Dunlop.

I don't know what a Sitar Bar is...anyone have a link to a picture?

Leo used a steel square bar (about 1/2" thick) on "Sam Stone".
