Jazz Jam in Webster Groves

Post by Steve Hitsman »

My guitarist friend, Tom Byrne (Webster University music faculty) runs an open jazz jam at the 61 Roadhouse every Thursday from 7:30-10:30. He'd love to include a couple of steel players. If anyone is in town early for the ISGC and would like to attend, contact me for further info. There are always a bunch of excellent musicians; bassists, drummers, horns and keys in attendance. I'll be going and can provide transportation for a couple of people but I have a pickup and consequently am limited on seating... I can haul steels, though.

Wish I'd known about this before making my flight reservations. Hope some steelers can join in this.

Maybe Wally Murphy might be in town early; he is from StL and still has family there... maybe you can track him down to invite him?

Just want to bring this up again. It seems at least one steel player will be there. The food is good, too.
