Hi Mickey, can you shed some light on the different looking changer on the 2 tone Mullen, my Mullen (HWP) and a Pre Royal.. never had a changer that looked like that.. looks like the Emmons stabalizer thingy on the Le Grande III"s...thanks in advance..Bob

Yes, I think it was designed as a stabilizer of sorts. The mid shaft
area has a beefed up support. I don't know the story
behind the design. More than likely it was designed
to minimize cabinet drop. I can't say it was effective
as there is minimal drop in both of these guitars..I do believe that manufacturers were always trying to find a way to eliminate it altogether..
