Sierra U-12
I can vouch for the quality and tone. My other guitar is a Zum SD-12, but I'm loving this girl more and more. Sierras rock! b0b will vouch for this-eh b0b? (This guitar is the twin of one b0b owns.)

Sierras are heavy
Jack, I can relate! Mine is about 15 lbs. heavier than my Zum. I got a lighter nylon keyboard case and carry the pedals and rods in a separate gun case. Still, it's a beast to load and unpack. That shouldn't discourage anyone who's used to a D-10 guitar. It's about the same as a D-10 Sho-Bud I saw the other day. I mostly play the Sierra at home and keep the Zum in the trunk for gigs. However, once I haul out and set up the Sierra, I know it's gonna be a great gig. It never disappoints. I love the sliding pickup feature--mine's got a humbucker and a single coil PU. These guitars are built like a Mercedes--amazing quality. The tone is great and mine has action smooth as butter. --JR

Re: price drop
Hi Jack,Jack Goodson wrote:price drop to 2500.00 plus shipping and ins. or still open for a trade on lightweight guitar....thanks jack
I have a Red 1984 Zum S12U 8x4 (single width body) that I would trade for your Sierra.
It is very lightweight for an S12U.
Give a ring to discuss if interested.

Hi Jack,
I replied to your PM.
I have today off so i did a test...
I have a '98 Sierra S12U here, as well as the Zum I mentioned.
I just weighed them both, twice, and the Sierra is only about 6 pounds heavier than the Zum.
I thought it was heavier than that.
Anyway... Now that I've crunched the data, as they say... I'm not sure you'd be picking up much less in weight.
We can still discuss by phone.
Pete

I don't understand what is going on here??? many S-10 or SD-10 3+4 go for $2000 and more, and this guitar loaded with 9+9 can't sell for $2400??? that is weird, I mean, we are talking about Cadillac of steel guitars, guitars that were selling for $5000 20 years ago... and now what? S-12 9+9 in immaculate condition should sell for $1500 bucks? To add one pedal on that guitar is over $250 and I think knee levers are even up to around $300 a piece... that is why I pull my Sierra off the market and decided to keep it..if nothing else it looks great set up in my living room ...

You say this fits you, and you are 6'2". Well I am 5'6". This would probably need to be lowered at lest 4" to fit me. Shorten 4 legs and 9 pedal rods?
Also, 3 raise and 2 lower? I am new to this and can't tell by looking at the pics.
What kind of pickup? How much does it weigh in the case?
Need to know this anyway for shipping.
