I just saw it on Facebook, too - how terribly sad.

He was a good friend to me (we're both train guys!) and a wonderful player.

Does anyone know what happened?

I just spoke with Herby's wife, Bunny, and she asked that I put some information on the forum regarding the passing of Herby. Herby had a massive heart attack this afternoon. Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time due to the Easter holiday. Just keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time.

I had the honor of getting to know and talk to Herby a lot in the last 4 to 5 years. What a great guy he was. We would talk at the steel shows when we both had our boothes close to each other. I will miss him so very much!!

Not just another great player but a great person as well.

Bunny, Ruth and I send our condolences!
