Rocky Caple wrote it back in the early '60s, as I recall. Jim Loessberg also has a version on his CD by the same title. .

Rocky had a band in the Tulsa area for years called the Shotguns (imagine that). It hasn't been too many years ago I heard him play that in person at the Tulsa steel show. I don't know if he's still playing or not.

Sawed Off Shotgun is also on Ronnie Miller's new cd.

He kicked off his set at the Texas Show with this song.....backed by the rest of"The Pridesmen"....a super performance!!
