Unless there has been a very recent change Dicky is still with Amber and they sound great.

She did a show without him in western Kansas, and the word was health-related. IIRC something about hip replacement ...

Here is wishing Dicky to get well soon. Hip replacements to doctors are like oil changes to maechanics nowadays. He'll be back and better than ever.

Amber's performances are on hiatus, due to the expected delivery of her baby in early-March. Stay tuned for her (and maybe Dickey's) return to performing.

Does anyone know if Dicky Overbey ever jammed with Ralph Mooney? Another pertinent question is, when will Amber be back on location, singing up a storm?

Yes, Dicky is just fine and he's still out there playing a bunch, mostly with Darrell and Mona McCall or Justin Trevino, and still doing lots of session work for Heart of Texas Records. As Greg pointed out, Amber is taking time off as the birth of her baby draws closer. Later this year she will hit the road again BUT, don't expect to see Dicky travelling around the US and Europe with her. He just doesn't do that stuff anymore. If Amber makes an Opry or Midnight Jamboree, RFDtv appearance, etc, it's quite probable that Dicky will be with her and he plays almost all of her regional Texas dates so if you want to see Amber, she might be coming to your town but if it's Dicky Overbey you're looking for, buy a plane ticket and come on down to Texas.

Dave,

They are both very inspiring with a great country sound. I hope Amber appreciates Dicky's steel guitar playing as much as I do.

Since Dicky is Amber's stepfather, I believe she's most appreciative of his contributions.

Cal,

I must have played her recordings "Lie To Him" and "Heart I'm Ashamed Of You", 50 times. How are you gonna beat those two recordings?

Bill,
Dickie and Amber really have an identifiable sound, or "branding", a popular term these days, like Hal and Loretta, Weldon and Connie and Lloyd and Lynn Anderson.

Even if Dicky is not with her, David Biller probably would be. He is a great player also. Can't lose with either of these two at the PSG.

I hope she continues to feature the good country sound for years to come. She really is the icing on the country music entertainment.

You're very kind to say that, Richard, and I really do appreciate it. Believe me, I am QUITE aware of the size of those shoes I have to fill and Dicky's fans are very quick to point it out to me, lest I forget. I've been standing in that shadow for almost 5 years now.

I wanted to point out Amber's live appearance, singing "LIE TO HIM" can be enjoyed by typing in Amber Digby-At The Swiss Alp Hall- "Lie To Him". It seems good to hear what I consider real country for a refreshing change.
