Herb,
I haven't been on the forum in a few days and missed this.
Get well fast old friend.
I have been in your shoes (or walking boot) as you well remember. I had to wear the boot for almost two years. They first said I would never walk again. You know how that ended up. I proved them all wrong! I know you will do the same!

Listen to the doctor, go to physical therapy, resist the temptation of taking the boot off "just to sleep", and get well fast. If you need anything from me you know how to reach me. I would call, but I am sure you are fielding enough calls right now instead of trying to rest.

If you need to go anywhere, call me. I'll take you anywhere you want to go.

I still have the electric scooter I had to ride those three years. Call me if you need it and I will bring it to you to use as long as you need.

Dave Beaty,
You are as always, a class act! I cannot wait to get my new pedal. I will give a full report as soon as I get it.

Best,
justin

Hi Herb,

I haven't checked the Forum in a while so boy am I surprised and disappointed to be reading about your bad accident. I'm so sorry Herb! I hope you are healing fast and are keeping your pain at bay with good medication and your typically unshakeable sense of humor. Feel better my friend; I know you'll come back soon as good as new.

sincerely,

I don't know how I missed this till just now but add my name to the list of all those who wish you well. From somebody who just pissed away a year of their life recovering from a traumatic medical situation let me say with some authority that I empathize with you my brother. Hey it coulda been worse - like your left foot - or your right hand.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Hey Herb...sorry to hear that your in this situation...everyones injuries are a little different...I can only speak to MY situation.

Almost 50 years ago I dislocated my right ankle with 2 broken bones that left me with a screw that had to be removed after 6 weeks and I healed completely....when on to pitch "Fast Pitch" softball for 15 years...no problems.

20 years ago I tore up my other ankle so bad that they put it back together using a plate and 7 screws...they are still in there and will remain...after healing I have had NO problems at all.

Doctors have certainly learned a lot and I'm sure that you will benefit from progress that has come about over the years...until you do, just kick back and enjoy Bob Parsons' drawing AND the love of your friends!!! ;-)

Cousin Herb,
Sorry to hear about your accident and subsequent predicament(particularly those logistical maneuvers we all take for granted). I feel your pain, for I have been there as you know. My thoughts and prayers are with you for a quick recovery. If your sense of humor is up to it, call me and we can discuss alternative methods for the logistical maneuvers. Love you brother. Mark
p.s. BTW Loved the pic from Stu

Herb, I'm always a day late and a dollar short, so I'm just now seeing this, but please know that you are in my prayers. It should be obvious to you by this outpouring of concern how much you are respected and loved, and I will always be in that group.
