Yuma Jam

Post by Hap Young »

WE are getting ready for the 2nd annual steel jam. It will be on the 21st of Jan. 2007 . Big Jim Barron will be there with band in a box. We had 10 pickers with thier axs last year, and 5 without thier axe. If you would like to attend email me and let me know. We will have a pot luck lunch, and we will barbeque the hamburgers and dogs. Its on a Sunday this year because most of the pickers here are playing Sat. somewhare. Let me know if you can come.

Ray, Thats great. We will be looking for you and Fred. I'm sorry that you have to ride all the way down here with him, as I know he likes to eat beans. Oh well, maybe gas will be cheaper that way.

Yuma Jam

Post by Hap Young »

Boy, are we ready to have some fun... Yesterday as I was playing at the VFW Larry Cummings came out to listen to us play and he said he is ready for the jam next week. He is from Canada, with a diffrent last name than i posted earlier. Sorry Larry. My old buddie (15 years old) Jonathan Candler came out with his dad Randy , and he sat in and did a couple of songs for the crowd. He is also ready for the Jam. We should have a good crowd so come and join the fun.

Hi Hap, this is Fred Johnson here, just kidding you Hap.
I guess I'm gonna have a van load with Ray and Dixie, and Arlene Seydel is coming along with her little red steel guitar in tow.
Oh ya, does anyone in Yuma need me to bring them any strings or steel guitar related products since I'm coming down anyway,
let me know ahead.
See you all soon. :)

Fred, I dont know if anyone needs strings or whatever, but bring down the store as someone might need something. I could use a Rains if you got one for 1.98.

Hate to cancel out on fun trip to Yuma with Fred and gang; but it got cold in MN and the snowbirds are migrating a week early so I have house guests coming in.
Was looking forward to hearing your band on Saturday also.
Just keep Fred and Ray in line-it will be tough job- them and their rollaway bed! lol Have fun guys!

This will be the last post I'll make before taking off in the morning for Yuma.
Plan is: stop at the Arizonian RV Park at Florence Junction and Frank and Fran Carter will pull in to trail us.
Pick up Ray and Dixie at Gold Canyon.
Drop off Brenda and Odie the Pom at Brenda's sister's.
Then on to beautiful down town Yuma Arizona.
