Our steel guitar brother, Steinar Gregertsen--RIP
Steiner Gregertsen, 12/11/1958-2/27/2012
I've always admired Steinar G--he is great musician and a really fine human being. He fell in love with the steel guitar and went on to record 2 stellar steel guitar CDs, Southern Moon Northern Lights and Standing Next To A Mountain, even though he has been an electric guitarist for most of his 53 years. He is a very passionate and compassionate guy, too.
I know Steinar has been having some difficulties lately with shoulder pain that has kept him from playing. You may remember him talking about that a few months ago here. This has been persistent for quite a few months now. It has turned out to be a little more serious than initially thought. They've discovered a tumor in his upper lung and it has grown to his shoulder (I believe he said it was the opposite of the one that was hurting--go figure!). Steinar is dealing with it one step at a time and keeping a very positive outlook. He has been hospitalized for 1 week now and will be there a bit longer for testing.
Please take a moment to send some of your positive thoughts to Steinar. He is looking forward to recovering and recording a few more CDs--in fact, he told me that he has regained his passion for the steel guitar now that there has been time for the smoke to clear and for him to rediscover his vision. I know I'm looking forward to it!
He has access to a laptop, but the network is dicey. He will read your messages here.
Here's a beautiful number from Steinar, or BrickNorski, as he refers to himself on YT:

That's terrible news. Here's hoping you have a full and complete recovery, Steinar.

Best wishes, Steiner. I have found reading your posts and listening to your music to be one of the great discoveries for me in following the forum. Music for such a creative soul must have great curative powers. Know that many of us are thinking of you.
