pedal steel hire in LA

hi there people

im driving into LA and have a couple of shows - one on the 5th dec and one on the 12th

Does anyone know where i can hire a pedal steel from out there?

I think you mean "rent," not "hire?" This is the States, after all.

There are a few very good pedal steel players here in Los Angeles (I'm assuming you meant LA and not Louisiana) Here is a list

I suggest you call Jim Palenscar at Steel Guitars of North County. His store is in Oceanside, which is maybe an hour's drive south of LA, depending on where in LA you are starting from. His store info can be found via the links above.

I see from your picture you are a steel player in the UK but mistakenly I thought you wanted to hire a steel player here in Los Angles, Paul was correct to steer you to Jim Palenscar's pedal steel store in Oceanside, it's a bit of a jaunt from LA but he may be your only hope to coin a phrase 'borrow a steel' for two gigs also one other option would be Blackie Taylor (if he is still in business) last I heard he has a shop down by Riverside, both stores are still easily an hour away from LA..
