Has anybody got and reports on the Jam? I would like to hear how it went and see some pictures.

They say there is no such thing as too much fun but I think I came pretty darn close.
I would like to thank the NTSGA and everyone involved for making me feel so welcome. It's a weekend I'll never forget.

Hey Tommy, that might have been a little more picture than Gene bargained for, your a brave man for taking a pic like that. Was great seeing you man and it was a fun filled weekend with lots of great steel, and great friends, and it was nice seeing Bobby Bowman and his date that he picked up at the Waffle House, and would have been even better if he could have got her through the double doors at the Super Jam.

PS I need to slack off(lying on Bobby)he is a treasure !

Gere,
I did get to see Michael the other day. I hadn't seen him since my days with Roy Drusky (30 years ago). It's amazing how these shows have helped me get back in touch with so many old friends. Great to see ya again Mikey.

hehe...Wayne! I didn't take that picture, Mike "Cookie" Jones sent it to me to place on the NTSGA website along with some others.
Buddy Elkin or I will post a link here when one of us gets a chance to get them put on there.
That is quite a crew in that picture of those who attended the "steel guitar summit" at the Waffle House.
Makes you realize how brave that waitress was!

That picture of Smiley was taken by Cletus Hopkins. Smiley was signing autographs at that time.
I would like to thank Rusty Danmyer, Billy Johnson and Damon Gray for all their help making me sound good. Of course the great rhythm section of Ric Boyer, Rick Vaungh and Drew Covington along with Walt Cunnigham all help too. Thanks gang for all the help.

I had the time of my life with the likes of Jim Walker, Wayne Morgan (Captain) Bobby Bowman, Hookie Moore and Jeff Hanson, just to name a few! I was the first one there and stayed almost to the end.... When I got up to leave my rear stuck to the chair .. I was impressed with everyone. WOW what a line up. I have to say, Johnanthan Candler blew me away.. What talent. To bad some one can't put a video of him on YouTube. I told my wife when I got home they need to get him on this years, America you got talent... Anyway I had the time of my life. There are two things I regret, coming home and missing the cook out at the Hicks and NOT ordering the biggest meal on me menu at Ruby Tuesdays, because the MORGAN MAN payed for everyones meal! OH WELL .... It was great meeting everyone from the Chat room too... See you there next year... i'd like to take a moment and thank my friend cookie jones for the opportunity to pick at the ntsga jam once again. i can't begin to tell everyone what an honor it is to get to pick in front of (and with) my friends, heroes and fellow lovers of the steel guitar. thanks so much to drew, billy, rick, ric, walt and damon for doing what they do best, play country music from the heart. you guys made what is an intimidating situation a pretty relaxing experience (all things considered!!!).
a special thanks to the members of the ntsga and everyone who attended for making me feel welcome and the chance to pick for ya.
