I have a sweet 70's BMI extended that I have to part with.
Hey I just found out I'm goin to be playing overseas this summer
so I'm now look to get a travel pedal steel for this guitar,
something like a lone star keyless that I can fit in an over head compartment
or a Linkon or Fessy six string ect.

Guys, not to bring any ill feelings toward this post or Dan. But I've communicated with Dan in reference to his BMI for sale and he's hoping to get close to what a new GFI would cost him.

However, my primary concern is the pics he posted are pics that I took in my home of my BMI that I sold to Dennis Wireman early last year. He doesn't admit that! I sold this BMI to Dennis for less than my asking price in the listing. Notice the unusual string sizes in the pics. It had my split tuning on it at the time before I changed it back to extended E-9th. You can see my MSA and GFI in the pics as well as one of my seats and a child's rocking chair.
Judge for yourself.

Hey Dave thanks for getting everyone up to speed on the history of this guitar.
First off I would like to say that I got the BMI from a player who wanted my Remington Console Steel collection .
His pic that he used to show me the guitar must of come from Dave , he seems upset about it , and to be honest I feel real bad ,I mean the rocking chair, the other steels ,but Dave you got to know it was a mistake, for the love of god forgive your fellow steel player dave , please!
As far as the BMI goes I would like to do a trade for a GFI but will sell the guitar not for the full price of a new GFI because I don't have to do that.
I would also like to thank Dave for his price info on GFI'S , this really helped me out because I was about to ask a guy named Dan Johnson who is also from Texas ,who looks just like me and has a good relationship with the company and is on the artist page.
So I would like to thank Dave for being a good sport, and no hard feelings, anyone feel free to contact me about the guitar.

I thought that guitar looked awfully familiar.
I sold it to David a few months back.(Quite a few)
Kinda' wish I still had it.
It probably plays better since Dave had it than when I had it, which I thought was fine.

BMI 12 string

Post by Dan Johnson »

Hey Loren , let me know if would like buy or swap gear for this bad boy.
And just to give you a heads up, this guitar did not have some split tuning on it,
when I got it , also whatever work anyone did on it was re-done 10 fold .
I took it to Jim Flynn in Texas and he unleashed his magic on this baby.
The reason Im trying to get rid of it is because I play very heavy rock and use a lot of distortion in my setup, this guitar is a Jazz guitar and the only thing I can think to do to it is ad some different pickups and I don't want to mess with that but if I don't get what I want for it I will use it for my big band -lounge gigs or put a new pickup in it .

Loren, this is the guitar I purchased from you. As you know, I took the guitar completely down and reset everything on it. I set it
to extended E-9th per Dennis' request and set the pedals and knees to his setup. It was a very good playing guitar although I wished I had left the original single coil on it with the three way selector rather than adding the George L 12-1 that's apprently still on the guitar.
