I have some endplates and am going to make a guitar body. I plan to cover it with mica. What wood would be the best to use since the surface will be covered?

Maple die board. Dense. Stable. Relatively impervious to moisture. Will not warp. Hard as a rock. Can be machined to close tolerances.

What more could ya ask for?
