Mike ...the tunes Stacy covered were Hula Blues , Feelin' No Pain, Hano Hano Hawaii ( 1st break and turnarounds), Honolulu Hula Heigh, Hula Girl, Kaala, Palolo, Stack o'Lee Blues, Maui Chimes, Lei Lehua, Indiana March, Patches, Tomi Tomi. There are a couple of others I think where he includes a small part of a Sol tune. Also many of those I listed Stacy doesn't cover the entire tune .
Yes, my head is okay. Cut all the way to the bone. I think I can play better now--the ideas just seem to flow out of my mind....Brian Hunter wrote:Is your head okay?
Thanks for the list Les. I don't think I was going to cover any of those anyway. I'm looking at Singin' The Blues, Fascinating Rhythm, An Orange Grove, I Like You, 12th St. Rag (early version) and ????

Sol Hoopii book/Dvd
Mike the late Bruce Clark of Cumquat Records covered some of Sol's tunes in his Play-A-Long With The Hawaiian Hotshots CD and Tab.and backing tracks. They are Twilight Blues, Aloha Oe Blues and Hula Blues in C#min7 and Chilli Blues ,Orange Grove in California and Hilo March in A high bass. His tab.and notation are excellent as well as his playing.I think I paid about $75 which I thought was good value.
I must admit that I have not yet got one of those tunes completely down yet and I agree that Sol's style of playing is difficult to master but I did get your 12th St Rag video etc. and can play that slowly. The video was a big help so any thing new you do of Sol Hoopii I'll be into.
Hope the 42 stitched laceration doesn't leave a disfiguireing scar.Regards Barry S
