Beautiful Guitar Andy, I only live about 10 miles from Jeff and Gloria's. They sure know how to build a pedal steel. Their finish is superior to any I have ever seen. You better keep Petree way from it.

Andy:
Does that coil tap on 11 get you into the Westcoast/Bakersfield/Sound ( ball park ).? Very Nice Steel. Enjoy & thanks for the feed back.

Hi Autry, maybe not perfectly but by flippin the switch and playin closer to the pickup I get a whole different tone for sure. I like it.

Carl, your big tuning wrench works great.
Thanks to all for the very nice comments on my beautiful new guitar.
Jeff and Gloria, I want you two to be god parents to my next child, if I ever have one.

Hey Andy,
Great looking guitar! Did you have special order the Tone Aligner with coil tap or is that standard? How does it sound in the tapped position? Sorta Fenderish????
Thanks!
Jim

Hi Jim, it's actually a TrueTone made by Jerry Wallace and in the tapped position which is wound around 11 or 12 it's a much thinner sound especially the closer to the pickup you pick. I'm gonna get a Sarno Freeloader to use and have even more control over the tone without reachin over to my amp.

Thanks Andy! I was hoping to find a p/u that'd do that. I will pursue it more. Do you ever see Ed Casey in your neck of the woods? He's a local steel player I've known for years & a great guy......
