MSA D-10 classic

Post by Scott Major »

Reece,
I have a white MSA, D-10 Classic with 8 pedals. The serial number is 2c180. Can you please tell me when it was built and any other information that you might have on it?

Thanks a lot,
Scott

Scott.....Serial number 2C180 shows to be a white tidewood formica double 10 which left the factory with 8 pedals and 4 knee levers. It was originally shipped to Spibbs Music. Your guitar was built in the earliest days of our production guitars, and the date of completion was not entered into record. As a guess, I would say it was made between late 1973 and early 1974.

Thank you for playing an MSA.

Thank you very much Reece. I noticed that the back side of my guitar looks like it should have a cover and places for a possible volume control and some types of switches. Is there a chance of verifying that? I went to the Carter Website and downloaded the MSA manual. The problem I found there was that only the even numbers were in the manual. All of the odd numbered pages were missing. Not sure whom to get a hold of to see if the balance of the informaiton is available.

Reece,
After checking further on the MSA Manual I found that the entire manual actually is there. Even numbers on the left, odd numbers on the right. It showed both numbers. My bad. I do still have the questions about the back side of the guitar however. When I printed it off it showed two half pages per sheet.

Please see the previous post.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott......Holes were drilled in the back plate of all the older production model MSA guitars to accommodate tone and volume controls.

Pre-drilling the holes for the controls on the back plate, and underneath for additional pedals and knee levers, has provided players with the advantage of more easily adding controls, pedals and/or knee levers.

As time progressed most didn't want controls, however we continued to offer the option and put chrome covers in the holes.
