Ray Price
I was fortunate to see Ray Price and the Cherokee Cowboys yesterday at the Georgia Mountain Fair. All I can say is WOW!
Joe Wright opened the show. He is a great talent.
The Cherokee Cowboys took the stage. Mike Cass on GFI. Four fiddle players - including Buddy Speicher. Ray Price, at 80 years old, was magnificent! He sang non-stop for 60 minutes, took a break and let the 10 piece band do their thing. Mike was show cased a few times as were other members of the Cowboys. Ray returned and did another 20 minutes and two encores. I'm still buzzing from the show.
If you get a chance to see Ray and Mike and Buddy and Joe, do it. You won't be sorry.

Joe brought the guys (Tim Smith-Bass, Rob Smith-guitar, piano and drums -names escape me) who have played on his recording projects.
No Hendrix. You wouldn't wanna do that here. He only went out far enough to do a Clapton tune on the evening show when I was there.
He went over great. In the end, he got a standing ovation from a 3/4 full house. A little over 2200 folks probably.
