In 1953 My Ship was in Dry Dock at Vallejo Ca. I Happened into a Music Store to look for a New Steel. Purchased a New Double 8 Fender. In the process of looking around I noticed a pedal steel guitar with three pedals by the out side left leg, I think it was a Supro, not sure any more. the pedals were attached by cables. But I also saw a lap steel, Not sure if it was a 6 or 8 string but it had a lever about half way down the out side edge that you move, like to the right or left, that the clerk said changed the key or tuning of the insterment. He did not deminstrate and I did not ask, after all I had what I wanted the new Fender double 8.

Any one out there ever seen that set up and who made it? I may be old but my long term memory still has something in it.

Sounds like a National Triplex Chord Changer lap steel.

Brad, that's it. Where did you find the item. How it works and what strings were effected I have no idea. like I said I did not ask for a deminstration. At the time I had a National New Yorker and was upgrading to the Fender D 8. Aparently rather continue in this vane, the development of the Pedal system became more versatile.

Thanks

Wayne
