GONE** Awesome Carp Steel GONE**

Carp Steel For Sale

Rains Carpsteel Beginner Pro in dark blue. Three pedals, four knees, Emmons setup. I bought it brand new. I have decided not to pursue learning Pedal Steel. I've owned it a short time. I played it for 6 weeks, averaging 3 hours a day. I know all of you guys know how great these things are. Comes with case and leg bag.

This one keeps in good tune. Jim Palesncar made that a reality by his masterful tweaking. Cabinet drop measured 4.5 cents on mine. Jim also spent time tweaking the setup to make it much more playable. I also had him lower the steel to better fit my height (I am 5'8").
I had Jim change the pickup from stock to Lace Alumnatone pickup. In my opinion the stock pickup sounds harsh and thin. I consider the tone change huge, an improvement well worth the cost. Once again Jim did an incredible job installing this pickup. It sounds great.

I was told the mechanics appear to be the same parts as on other Rains.
The Carpsteel has a professional changer with triple raise/triple lower, and knee levers are professional grade. The overall feel of the guitar is very solid.

What makes this such a cool instrument is how light it is. The weight of the Carpsteel is as follows: Guitar in case is 34 LBS, Guitar out of case is 22 LBS. The guitar packs into a very portable, lightweight, compact case.

It has a tiny chip in the paint (see photo). Touchup paint can be bought at Walmart. And some very fine surface scratches that are normal from playing an instrument. They do not turn up in the photo. I am a musician, not a salesman. Make sure this is what you want. Ask all the questions you need. Sales are final on this item, no returns.

I have over $1500 into this Carp Steel due to setup tweaking expenses and the Alumnatone pickup and installation. I understand I have to take a hit on it. I feel taking 20% off my costs is fair. First $1200 plus shipping and insurance, with a verified Paypal account takes it!

Will, I thought you were on your way once you decided to get the CarpSteel!!! This is a good deal on the same axe that I use for "fly-gig's". The pick-up change really makes a difference in the tone of these guitars and if your lucky, they will let you put it in the overhead bin on the airplane!!

Jim, I realized I'm not crazy enough about pedal steel to put in 3 to 5 hours a day. I'm not the type to do anything half-way. It's smarter for me to stay focused on reso. Thanks for the help!
