Jim,regardless of whichever title you choose,I am confident that your new album will be right up there alongside such other great recordings like: "Hulk Hogan sings I've got a crush on you" or "Theme from the Texas chainsaw massacre-I sawed her standing there". How about.....
"Songs We Really Never Wanted To Hear Again, But Since They're Being Played On Steel Guitar, We'll Give Them A Listen"
Catchy title?
Of course I'm needling Jim. All of his previous cds have been wonderful listening both in material and playing. They are timeless and tireless.
Anyone who hasn't seen Jim play in person, do yourself a favor if you have the opportunity.
At the PSGA Show this past November, his rendition of "Danny Boy" (a tribute to the late Jeff Newman) was to cry for. |

Steelin' Fossils;
Steel Dinosaurs (with nice graphic);
Yesterday's Steel (might want to add one
Paul McCartney song );
A Pocket Full of Chestnuts;
Steelin' From the Left Bank.

Many great ideas here; this is fun, and we're almost done, so please get your final entries in now.
Howard, thanks for your nice words (and a few not-so-nice words ). Please note however that my rendition of Danny Boy was offered in memory of the late Winnie Winston. Jeff was a major teacher and mentor to me and, for reasons that will be explained in the liner notes, the new CD is dedicated in Jeff's memory. |

Hey Jim.... how many of these titles are ones you came up with earlier... but chalked it up to studio fatigue

Jim, I stand corrected. Winnie Winston.
You know, once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.....
As far as my words.....if I could play "Happy Birthday" with a tenth of the feeling and technique that you have, I'd be pretty darn lucky. |
