New Clip of the Week 06/19/11

Post by Walter Stettner »

Good Morning,

I don't think that I ever had a version of "Another Bridge To Burn" before, so, here it is, from the late 1960s:

Enjoy the music!

Kind Regards, Walter

I remember well when this first came out...I was going crazy trying to master that tenth string harmony. Don't know if I ever did but it sure was a beautiful sound...almost like two steels playing at the same time !! Buddy Charleton and Jack Greene for sure !!

To this day, I'm so glad when I first started playing steel, that a friend gave me "Country Dance Time" by the Texas Troubadours, and told me to listen, learn it, and live it! To me it's still one of the best "desert island" records ever! :)

All the instrumentals, including "Red Top" & "Almost to Tulsa" really turned me on to the possibilities of the steel guitar in my formative years as a steeler.

This will always be my favorite version of "Another Bridge to Burn" !!!

Looks like you all really enjoyed this one! :D :D :D

No discussion about who it was. The troubadours really were a special group. I still watch Buddy and Leon do their jazzy twin arrangements in awe!

Kind Regards, Walter
