"Everytime You Go Away" Bishop Ronnie P. Hall

Post by Bishop Ronnie P Hall »

Hello my fellow steelers! :)
Well, here again, is one of my attempts at trying to expand the borders, and horizons, of my style of steel guitar music. I had a most difficult time of trying to upload this rendering of Hall & Oates song on the "Tube", to my adaptation of same. Anyway, I had fun trying to play it. So if it brings a smile to you, then hopefully there is a certain amount of success in the attempt! Enjoy! (I hope!!)
Ron
PS: Watch out for the Volume, I recorded it "Hot"!

Hey Bishop Ronnie, I remember this song being played in the Steve Martin/ John Candy film "Trains, Panes And Automobiles" in the scene where Steve Martin finds out that John Candy has no place to go, and he invites him to his house on christmas eve. A very emotional scene.
Of course I like your rendition.

It sure brought a smile :) to my face.
I am going to use a phrase from another forum post.
"If I send you my steel, would you teach it to play that song"?
Keep up the good playing and I truely enjoy your style.
I try to play a lap steel similar to your style but I think you are the master of it.

What about having a CD drive installed in your steel, so that you can play Ronnie's CD through your amplifier?

All kidding aside, another great rendition. 8)

I`m honored for what you said about playing my style on the lap steel. When you succeed, in learning, do me a big favor and let me know how you succeeded, because for 58 years that I have been playing, I hav`nt figured it out yet!!! I just keep trying! Thanks my friend.

Hi Dan (Galysh) :D
I`m glad, if it brings a smile to your face, and joy to your heart, then my work is done. :) For me it is not fame or fortune, but it is about making somebody feel just a little bit better now, than just a little while ago! Thanks, my friend. Enjoy! :)
