Gary Rittenberry & Carl Kilmer playing

Post by Carl Kilmer »

Ok friends. Here's something different. Me and Gary playing together.
We were at Joe Arview's picnic Saturday and we were invited to play.
Neither one of us play out, and we didn't really know the songs at all,
but we sure had a wonderful time playing with our great friends. :D :D :D
Sorry about the shacky video and some noise, but it was quite windy.
Give us a listen, and if you like it, I'll put another one on for you.
Thanks for watching, comments (Good or Bad) are welcome. :) ;-) :)

Lucky, took me a while to get this downloaded, but as usual Buddy, it sounded great. Didn't know you had to furnish a steel builder a steel to play!!!!!!

Larry, Gary doesn't have time to build one for himself! He has a bunch to build for other folks! Great playing, guys.

Hey fellows, many thanks from both me and Gary.
We sure appreciate your comments, and I will put
another song on soon. I think it will sound better.
Larry: Gary has his own steel, but the only time he
plays is in church every Sunday. He didn't expect to
play at the picnic. He only went to have a good time
with friends and put a new fretboard on my Red steel
so I could see it better with my bad vision.
When Bobby Reed asked me to play, I told him I would
like to have Gary play with me, if he wanted to. Heck
I had 2 steels there, and thought he should enjoy it
too. We were both nervous, but sure had a lot of fun.
My steels are different than Gary's but he sure did a
great job of playing it. He put a lot of fantastic licks
on it, but when he changed the fretboard they came off. :( :( :(

Thanks Carl, you and Gary sounded excellent together. Who doesn't like a Ritt once they have heard and/or played one? :D
Excellent guitars from a master craftsman!

What a pleasure to watch the man that built my guitar lay down some beautiful steel. This was a treat for sure! Gary is so talented in so many ways.

It takes a player to build a great guitar. How else can they know what's right? Gary knows what's right!
