Hi.
I wonder if anyone know how many S-12s that were made by Emmons? And how they were numbered (to date them)?

I have two guitars serials #131 and #185. The earliest is black with wide pedals and the later is a rosewood with narrow type pedals.

I'm now in the progress of rebuilding them and making them loaded U-12s. A funny and time consuming project....

Regards - Sveinung in Norway.

I had an S-12, Serial no. 158.
What's interesting about this guitar is that it started out as a "Banshee".
There was a fellow in New Jersey that would take an Emmons and modify it: put a different pickup on it with lots of coil taps, extra controls and etc.
I bought the guitar off of e-bay and restored it back to an original Emmons.

I had a U12 Rosewood PP Bowman set up for me. It had Legrand pedals and sounded fantastic. Played real easy and nice too.

I've got one. Black PP, single body, 7x5.
Bought in summer '82.
If anyone is in the Portland Oregon area and wants to check it out, let me know.

I had it a SGN one day a few years back:

I have an SD-12 and have NEVER seen an SD-12 that did not have the holes drilled on the end plate like a D-12 ......Has anyone seen an SD-12 with only one set of holes for one neck drilled ? .......Did they even make them ? ....Jim

I have a rosewood S12U, 7+5 that I bought last year. Great little guitar. I'm saving my pennies and plan to send it to Mr. Cass for a good going over and polish.

It's an amazing little tone monster.

I saw mine in the front window of Tall Toad Music a month or two ago. It's really beat up and (IMHO) overpriced. Somebody worked it pretty hard after I had it.

Bob, I saw that Emmons in Petaluma at the end of July. Yes, beat up and expensive. Did you notice the 9 volt battery strapped into the undercarraige? What's that for?

Tom,
I put an "active" pickup on a Sho~Bud some years ago and that required a 9 volt battery. An excellent sounding pickup, by the way.
I traded it to Bobbe and don't know what he did with it after that.

The battery was for the LEDs that I embedded in the wood neck to light up the centers of the atomic fret markers. Whoa!
