Could someone tell me what brand of strings does Emmons use on factory shipment of guitars? |

Emmons re-packages GHS Boomers for their Extra Lively strings and GHS smooth wound for the old green pack sets. They don't make their own strings.

Thanks a bunch, that is what I suspected but didn't know for sure. Those are some smooth and great sounding strings. I believe I'll try a set on my Sho-Bud next time. |

The Emmons guitars used to come with the round wound (GHS Boomer) strings on it from the factory. Guages are slightly different from the pre-packages GHS sets. Emmons E-9 guages are; .012, .015, .011, .014, .018, .022, .026W, .030W, .034W, .038W. C-6 guages are; .011 or .015, .014, .018, .022, .026W, .030W, .036W, .042W, .054W, .070W (even though the packages says .068W).
Hope this helps. I still use the boomers on my guitars. |

Hey Jack, thanks for the reply. The reason that I was curious, a friend of mine bought a new LDG and invited me to come and pick a little on it. I don't consider myself a "player" yet, when I played that guitar it sent my ego through the roof and boosted my confidence by a good measure also. The strings were the smoothest that I had ever felt and heard. I am wondering if it was the guitar or the strings but it was something. Butter don't spread that smooth! If it was the strings that is what's going on my Sho bud next round. I tried Cobra Coils this time and I'm not impressed at all. |
