Oh Nick, that's terrible news! Rip was a great friend and one of the very best customers I ever had in the beginning days of my studio!! He was a great player and even a better person! Anyone that ever met Rip sure knows that! May the Lord have mercy on Rip's soul and let him rest in peace!! Good bye old friend!

Rip Wilson was a good friend for many years. We have played many shows together, worked the road together, and been on many rabbit-hunting trips. Rip was a great player,...I loved his "Atkins" thumb-style guitar. Just a great person is so many different ways. I miss him.

Rip and I were good friends for many years also. We worked gigs/tours together back throughout the 70's and still met at various locations around town, up until most recent times! I'll miss him too!

Rip was a unique character to say the least...one of the funniest men i was ever around. I have been priveleged over the years to be around his family from NC, and after meeting some of them i understood where he received that humor from. Many funny moments, one was on a Sunday morning...it was Mothers Day and they were wondering about playing a song in honor of the occasion...Rip tears into "mama tried" lol.
