Bob, what a great sounding guitar! To me the Blanton has a unique sound all its own like the old ZB's or the Emmons PP.
The uniqueness of the Blanton bellcrank is outa this world. It just proves what a thinker Jerry Blanton is.
I would love to have his mind!
Tell me, with this bell crank you were able to tune the pedals as well as adjust the travel as well as time the pedals?
I have spoken with Jerry a couple of times and he is a great person to talk to. Last time we talked he said something about building another one. I sure hope he does...
Thanks for the pictures and video Bob. I thought you played well. The recording was fine and the Blanton sounded great!
Hi Bent! How right you are! Currently I play an aging P/P (it is wonderful!) and on the bench is a D10 ZB formally owned by our very own Gordon Huntley …It is almost finished and you will like it I guarantee!!! Both guitars have such a cutting tone it could waken you out a dream! As would a Clark Custom! Jim made a great sounding PSGs also! But you are right ‘The Blanton’ has a unique sound, my brain clicks back 35yrs here! Donny’s sound was awesome them and still is now! This guitar is an absolute joy to play! (All the wrong way round for me and I made a cobblers of that playing) but you get the drift and thank you!! Re. that bell crank .Yip! One size tights! .Fantastic! When you next talk to Jerry tell him to make the next guitar a tad lighter! Then we are sorted! Superb !!
