Florida Steel Guitar Club May Mtg/Jam

Post by Don Sulesky »

The Florida Steel Guitar Club's May 2006 Meeting/Jam will be Wednesday, May 10th, 2006, at 5:30PM. Location is Catfish Johnny's Restaurant, CR470, Lake Panasoffkee, Fl. (our regular Meeting/Jam place).
The FSGC Club holds monthly Meetings/Steel Guitar Jams the second Wednesday of each month. Lake Panasoffkee is exit 321 on I75, approximately 60 miles west of Orlando and about the same distance north of Tampa.
Check out the Club's new web site for special events. http://www.floridasteelguitarclub.com/

I going to have to miss this one, I'm going on a Cruise in the Caribian, My Neice is getting married, and all of the family is going so guess who has to go also.

I know you will all have a great time, I certainly will miss not being there.

Hi jack, My daugher lives in Okahumpka, Florida, and we're thinking of moving somewhere between there and Dade City. How far is that area from Catfish Johnny's. I'd like to go to the meetings. Thanks Larry

Larry, I don't think it's over 15 miles. Lake Panasoffkee is in Sumter Co. Catfish Johnny's is on CR470 about 3 miles west of I75.

There is a map on our web site. www.floridasteelguitar.com

I'm in Inverness (about 25 miles west of Leesburg).

Larry
Enjoy your cruise and we'll see you next month.
Stay away from the railings. I hear a few folks have gone missing on cruise ships lately. I see we'll have a good hand with 3 Jacks this month.

Catfish Johnny and his wife Pat will also be gone on a cruise to Alaska. They are leaving Saturday (6th) and will be gone for 7 days. Linda, their Cook/Manager will be in charge. I talked to Johnny today and he says Linda knows we will be there Wednesday.

Can't tell you all how much I enjoyed the jam last night. Lot's of great music and food mighty fine. 'Course, the fellowship was worth the trip. Thanks to all for making this club "newbie" feel welcome.
I may just get up the nerve to bring my hack style of steeling next trip! jas.

Jack Dougherty,

Congratulations on your retirement. I've been retired for about 3 years, and it's the best "job" I've ever had. Hope to see you and my other Florida friends in about October -- unless some of you will be at the convention in St. Louis in September.

We had a great time and great bunch of pickers last night. We got in 4 songs each plus 4 "roundrobbins". 3 lap steels, 1 dobro and 7 pedal steels.

Thanks to all that attended.
