Hello Fellow Steelers!
Just a quick announcement about our upcoming quarterly Steel Jam on Sunday, April the 10th. We will be back in the Big City of Merkel, and once again at the Senior Citizens building downtown, just across from the bank. We had over 100 people at the last jam, and look forward to that many or more in April. We'll start about 1:30pm and hit the ground a runnin. Also, if you have a steel, an amp, or something to sell, you are welcome to bring it! We had a great time last jam, and heard lots of positive comments. So....mark your calendars, spread the news, and get ready to go! Everyone should be fired up, after the Dallas Show. We'll see ya'll there!

I'm always on a downer about my playing when I get back from Dallas and see how little I really know about the pedal steel, but I'll pull myself together and be ready for this. We had a ball at the last one and thanks to feedback and Dovie's videos we'll try to make this next one even better. Toliver is an excellent host.

We had a lot of fun the last time. It should be warmer for this one. I'll plan on being there if nothing drastic happens.

Well Dovie and I will be there with bells on. Loved that old building. I often wondered the history of it.

I once said Bobby Tuttle could string up a 2X4 and make it sound good. Nevermind that the rascal did it only didn't tell anyone. The pictures are attached. We're looking forward to Bobby bringing the axe to Merkel and we'll film it and put it on you tube. So Bobby the challenge is out. Be sure you bring those other two rascals along with you. Fred,
When I was a kid, that was a hardware store, with a doctor's office upstairs, then when the hardware store closed, it became the senior citizens building. Our family bought it, and then it was a church, and now we use it for the West Texas Steel Guitar Association Jams & meetings. Sure hope everyone comes out and has a great time.

Hello Fellow Steelers,
Just a quick note that Bobby Rains & James Foster have one of the first Rains steels that has only been played for a couple of hours for sale. It is a single 10 on a double frame. I've seen it and it's a beauty. They will be bringing it to the Jam on April the 10th for all to see! (unless it sells 1st). Likewise, if you have some item, amp, or steel, etc....bring em on! Someone there will probably be interested. Our April Jam will be awesome!
See ya'll there!

Well, Bobby Rains and James Foster just sent me a picture of the Rains they are bringin to the Jam. The top pic is good, but the other two are a little blurry. You can see it is very nice though. Make plans to come to the jam at 1:30 on April the 10th in beautiful downtown Merkel. What a Rush! See ya'll there! By the Way....It is for sale!

Hey Larry, met an old friend of yours at the opry show with George Hamilton IV last Thursday nite, invited him to join the wtsga and start making our meetings, he has an msa but about to give up and sell it. i told him we would give him all the help he wanted, I will teach him all the bad habits and you can teach him to break them and play right. Rolling Eyes his name is Mark Williamson, you might want to give him a call and invite him personally.

Larry T. is doing a wonderful job of finding steel players that would really enjoy this, but haven't known about it. Help us get the word out to as many steel players and just folks that enjoy steel playing as possible. Heck, you don't have to be big steel guitar fans, if you just like good ole country music like it used to be, you'll like this. Where else can you just show up and hear several hours of good country music. We do put out a tip bucket to give you the opportunity to help keep this alive, but we're gonna welcome you just for your presence.

There are lots of posts and emails about April the 10th coming in. David Wright is thinking about coming also. You know how good he is! So, let's put some comments on here and tell David Wright that if he misses our jam....we will all be sad and depressed. He said he'd let me know in a day or so. I'm fired up!
Make some noise and tell everyone to be there
