1st gig on steel

Post by Robby Osenton »

last night was my first gig playing pedal steel guitar.

The outputs on the pa system blew up during the 1st song, resulting in us using my steel amp for the vocals!

I had to play the gig through my 5e3 tweed deluxe, possibly the worst amp for steel. I couldnt hear myself, and had some tuning issues, but it wasnt that bad. I was really bummed because I was ready to play well, and was only able to go at maybe 60% because of the issues. It really killed the vibe too.

I think this was my worst gig from a massive failure standpoint in ten years of gigging.

What was yours?

Gads, and on your first gig playing steel.

You should have made the singer play through the Fender amp

It will be 2012 before I try and take the steel out to a gig....

So of course...2012 = end of the world...so my first gig will literally be the end of the world.
