Ok a quick show of hands, How many have heard The Jazzabillies CD by Scotty Henderson and The Queens? I have been playing this over the stores system and response from the public has been tremendous. If you havent heard it ya just gotta!
Jerry Roller you are one of my favorites, You played great. We are all musicians here and know what it can be like to have a mechanical problem. I think you were brilliant overcoming the problem during your sets. I have watched you play and you have the greatest bar technique that I have ever witnessed!
Ok I gotta get back to work!

If Jerry Roller messed up I sure didn't hear it. I wish I could mess up that good! And I thought Kathy and (Kathy's clowns) did a marvelous job. The first time I ever saw an Emmons guitar face to face was when I saw Kathy playing it and she was only 16 years old. I really owe my choice of an Emmons guitar to her. I kept my push-pull 26 years and I've kept Blackie for 9 years. To me the Emmons guitar sounds like a steel guitar ought to sound. I didn't know Lavelle had a stroke but glad he's still playing his steel guitar. Venda enjoyed getting to meet Brenda Justice. She's such a great person! And of course, Fred blows me away with his GREAT playing. Bless your hearts for driving so far! Why don't you two move back this way so we can enjoy your friendship all the time. There are so many other players that I should mention but I'll hush for now!

Jerimiah and Jerry, Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed my time on Sunday very much. Glad to see my friends and spend some time with them. Thanks to Roger and the gang for all they do. Special thanks to the band, Larry King, Dwain Carger, Mac Bellingrath and Buck Grantham. You guys are just tremendous. All the players were great and I'm already looking forward to next year. Tim

To the SSSGA,

I want to thank everyone for the honor of coming to your show and trying to play my steel guitar. As most of you that were there could see I was having trouble with my left foot again and again and again. The Dr. said it will heal in time, I am just ready for it to be 100% now.
Back to the SSSGA,
Without the members of the association playing and you have many great players there, the show would have been about two hours long. So to all of you that did play "THANK YOU" for your help in making the show a great success.
To Roger and all the staff, you have everything together and it makes it a pleasure for someone like myself to feel comfortable playing on your show.
I can't mention everyones name here because if I did, I would probably leave some one out , and I don't want to do that.
I had a great time playing , but I do want to thank some people, Miss Lana for putting up with all the talk from me about the steel guitar, Kenny Brant for all his help, I still can't lift anything over 20 lbs, so Kenny has been going with me everywhere and making sure My guitar , rack etc is taken care of. Hey buddy I couldn't do it without you.
To AUSTIN STEWART, my young friend you will be a monster player in time, you are already a great player, just keep a level head and keep practicing, and you will definately get there. Last but not least, Jerry Newberry, you have done a great job with Austin, but don't forget one thing, you happen to play that steel great yourself. I want to thank you again for getting Austin to come and play on my set, it was a thrill for me to watch him play, side by side, of course you must feel that way all the time, as you get to do it all the time.

Again thanks to everyone there, I had a great time and I hope the Association will ask me to come back next year,

Terry Bethel (Mel Tillis Show) Again!!!!!

The SSSGC wishes to send thanks to everyone that made this years convention the absolute best of all to date. The list of world class talent was truly impressive. Thanks to Donley Harrington,Norma Jean Lucas,Virgil Pittman and Larry Garrett for being there when it was time to put the convention together.I wish the SSSGC had the good fortune,as most steel guitar clubs do,to just walk into a convention center, turn on the lights, collect admission from the audience and their ready for a steel guitar show.We have to work hard at the ABA to earn the privilage of putting on our shows there and it's a lot of work.Far more than most folks realize. So to my staff and volunteers,a BIG THANKS for now and maybe I can make it all up to all of you later.
Thanks to all the steel artists and I'll send you a personal thanks as I have time. What would the SSSGC do without the help of Deb and Dwain Carger,Larry King,Mac Bellingrath,Tim Lane,Steve Hill,Delores Osbourn,Pam Harrison,my grandson Blake and Ron Field. These precious friends are not even dues paying members but they come running to volunteer every year without having to be asked. They see the need and they Git-R-Dun.Thanks to Dwain Carger for asking the Makin Memories Trio to perform at the show.I know everyone enjoyed their set.Delores and I will see you in Tulsa on Memorial Day.
