b0b,
I am loving this CD! What a great idea it turned out to be.
What variety and talent! So well worth it!
Thanks to all.
I was working on an idea to submit, but unfortunately, it was only about a minute long. Im not much of a song composer really, and by the time the first 50 forumites had posted entires, I was frustrated but relieved too.
Anyways, while this one is on heavy rotation around here, Im already looking forward to Volume 2. Hopefully I will have an idea near completion to send in by then!

I got my copy in the mail yesterday and I sent my check in the mail this morning. I listened to the entire CD and it sounds fantastic and everyone did a great job with an excellent variety of styles and arrangements. I want to thank Bob for this wonderful idea and I am very proud to be on the CD with all the other members...great job everyone, you all sound great. _________________ Marlen SD 10 3 and 5,Fender 5 String Banjo, Flinthill 5 string banjo,Johnson Resonator Guitar, Ibanez AFS75T Country/Jazz Guitar. |

Finally got a chance to listen to all 50 songs, a lot of really good tunes. So much music on one disc it's almost overwhelming. Some of the highlights for me were songs 17, 18, and 19, by Goldmark, Lacey and Mortensen. Tom's tone on Sinners Waltz is particularly outstanding, I was curious as to what guitar he played but alas, no mention.
Compliments to b0b again for a job very well done! |

I listened to the whole CD. Next day, I listened again in random shuffle as b0b had suggested. The third day, I opened a file on the disk and read the liner notes while listening to the CD again, in order. Even better. Congratulations again to all! This is a CD that will travel with me wherever I go. Recommended listening for all forum members, I'd say.

My order from Kunaki.com came a few days ago, and it is a real honor to be included with such a great lineup of pickers, pro and amateur alike. It's a feast of styles and approaches to this quirky instrument. Hats off to b0b for a job well done. |

Got mine yesterday (super fast delivery, thanks b0b!). Variety is the word! So many different styles and tones! Most tracks are really interesting, but two of them rise above the rest (IMHO): Baz's Swedish Rhapsody and that tango thing near the end.
Mike Perlowin's piece was also great – that string quartet effect box is really good ![Winking](images/smiles/icon_winking.gif) |

Hey b0b,
I'd love to see a chart of the chords you used in "A Train Runs Through It." That's a delightful mixture. |

Thank you, but that was no box. That was a live recording with 2 real string players. Carole Mukogawa on viola and Michelle Beauchesne on cello.
Carole recently retired from the L.A. Philharmonic after playing with them for nearly 30 years. She is an A-list Hollywood session player whose work has graced recordings by Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Barry Manilow, Carol King, Henry Mancini, Linda Ronstadt, Ringo Starr, and dozens of other major stars, as well as around 50 film and countless TV soundtracks and commercials.
This was her concert, and I was one of 3 other musicians who were invited to participate. I consider that invitation to be the single greatest honor I've ever received in my entire life.

Mike, of course I knew that, hence the "wink" emoticon.
It will be a very chilly day down in H E Double Hockey Sticks when someone is finally able to emulate all the fine nuances of a live string quartet synthetically. |

Sorry Per, I was distracted and didn't catch the "wink."
This was the trio I write about from time to time. I had hoped it would be a full time thing, but both the other players have so many other commitments that we only get together occasionally.
We are planning to hold a series of concerts and record a live CD at some point in the future. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Anyway, it sounds good! I'd love to hear some Mozart played that way. Maybe throw in a banjo as well (seriously!) |

I received my copy a couple of days ago. I have been enjoying it immensely! I hope the interest keeps going and another CD is made. Keep the post up for sales so everyone knows where to get their copy. Thanks to bOb for all his hard work in making it happen. _________________ 60's & 70's country rock is my favorite, Martin & Taylor acoustic, Fender & Washburn electric, Rickenbacher BD 8 lap steel, violin. |

Posted 23 Mar 2011 5:23 pm I just found out why the CD wouldn't play in my computer.
|
|
The CD driver in my computer isn't working. That's why the Forum CD didn't work. I cant play ANY CDs. The fact that the forum CD was the first that couldn't be read was just a matter of timing.
So much great stuff, it's hard to pick a favorite, but I really like Basil H's Swedish Rhapsody.
I hope b0b sells enough copies of this to warrant making another one. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

I've had 3rd-party software trash my Mac's CD driver before. That's what I assumed had happened to yours (and I said so).
As far as a volume 2, when we sell 200 of this one, I'll start another one. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |
