On The Road Again

Post by Sam White »

Well this is it the last move for us. We are moving to Greenville Tennessee with in the next 35 to 45 days. We bought a nice home 5 miles out of town in the Country where I can play my steel and not scare anyone away.

Sam, I have never been to Tennesee. Will your new home have a room for uninvited guests?

Sam, Just want to take a moment and thank you for all the help you've given me as Vice-President of the Rhode Island Steel Guitar Association. Your going to be hard to replace. I wish you the best of luck in your new home in Tennessee. Please send us your address and keep in touch. God BLess you and Anne.

Welcome to the neighborhood Sam. Although I live just across the mountain in Asheville NC, my folk retired years ago to the Greenville Tn area. Great area! As I'm sure you know, both Knoxville to the west, and Johnson City/Tri Cites to the north east have growing music scenes. Doesn't exactly suck either, to be in striking distance of Nashville for some weekend steel fixes.
Best of luck in your move.

Hi Sam,

Sorry to hear you are leaving. I have been very busy lately as you know with work at our church. I missed the November meeting due to sickness and the last one I missed because I was over committed in other areas of my life, but!! I will do all I can to be at the May 28th meeting, I hope you will still be around by then. If not, I would like to see you before you go.

Sam;
I moved here to Nashville in 1967, In ’82 my wife and I moved up to Pa. to take care of my aging parents, who both passed away in ’82. We stayed there until ’89 and then bought a house on the coast of Ms. in the town of Gautier, Ms. There was no work there at that time so we finally sold out and moved back here to Nashville in July ’91. I always felt like I was on the road for (9)-yrs. trying to get back home. I don't plan to ever leave Tn. again! I hope you feel the same way, once you are in Tn.!

I know what you mean about going back to Tennessee. There is someting that just draws you back there once you have lived there. I know the people are one of the biggest reasons as they treat you like a person.

Roger
I will be in touch with you when we get moved down. We will be comming down the first Saturday of June.It is about thirty (30) miles to kings port and we will be there every week end to hear Eddie play.I will be comming over to your Pad with my Steel. you will love this Emmons when you see it.I have started to play with Rythum tracks but not to much yet.Thanks for your offer to help us.

Welcome to TN. You have a place to stay near Nashville anytime you need. Esp during the NTSGA Jams. I try make everyone of them--as a spectator. I am an original east Tennessean myself (one leg shorter) so you are in God's country. wally
