My guess is SASHA OSTROVUSKY from the Russian C&W band, BERING STRAIT. He plays s single Derby.

If you had watched, Good Moring America' T.V. show today, Darius Rucker performed a few songs along with his band which included an awesome Pedal Steel & Dobro player.

If this was Sasha, man did he come along way since I first saw him perform with Bering Strait's in Ft Lauderdale on two different occasions.

Not sure who he's touring with, but Dan Dugmore does most of his studio work.

BTW, His show here at the Count Basie Theatre in Redbank, NJ is already sold out.

BRENT - When I saw Bering Straits perform yeras ago, Sasha did excellent on the Dobro, he was a little nervous playing steel and needed more time in my opinion. Seeing him perfrom with Rucker on Monday, all I can say is he was awesome, this kid is going places in the steel guitar world.

You'll hear more on him in the future.

I was pleasantly surprised to a steel guitar prominently shown this week playing with Rucker, for the Batchelorette and her guests in Atlantic City.
I assume it was Sasha.
More exposure for the instrument is good.

I was able to spend some time with Sasha yesterday. He has a great ear and great technique. A super nice guy to boot.

Joe are you implying that "Hootie and the Blowfish" are not Modern Country? Laughing

Congratulations, Joe. With nothing else to do with yourself, you chose to take a dump on a thread that is entirely about a good steel player. Bravo.

Uverse is playing a Darius Rucker concert. Sasha is the main lead player. They have a 6-string player doing some solos but the majority of the ornament is pedal steel. I'm not a big fan of Rucker, but dang, Sasha made it completely worth watching/listening.

Unless I've missed something, nobody in this thread has put anyone down. Question
