Ahhhh, made in India.. in a city called Dum Dum Laughing

Heard of the brand before. There's also a line of "Gibsons" that used to come out of the Phillipines.. the orange label inside the body says "Lumanog & Sons, Manilla". I bought one for $5 at a yard sale Very Happy

I like how the Givson guitars look more like Fender products.

I brought home a bandurria from the Philippines years ago and as soon as I got into the cold climate the top cracked in a few places. Those "Gibson" guitars made in the Philippines are made with native woods and they are crappy.

It's not so much the difference in temperature, but the differnce in the humidity level.

A funny story I experienced on new years morning a few years back:
I live in an area where the air humitidy is pretty high, sub-tropical would fit, and I built a twelve string guitar in the summer. I made the mistake to clamp and glue everything together under tension.
I hung the guitar over my bed.
When I returned in the morning from the party I went to sleep, but suddenly I woke up, because there was a noise of strings ringing above my head.
It was a very cold and very dry winter's day, and the top of the guitar had cracked.

That reminds me of what my father use to say at the beginning of the month when the rent was due.

A "semi-solid" guitar sounds strangely attractive.
