Lap Slide Guitar Demo

Post by Alan Hamley »

Here is a link to a sound file I recorded last night on my latest Blackwood, Weissenborn, Style 1 copy guitar build!
The mp3 is my version of the old tune, Paris Texas released by Ry Cooder some years ago. I have used fingers only in this tune. The recording is live, no effects using a Zoom MRS4 recorder, a dbx pre-amp and a NT3 Rode microphone.

Thanks to Allen for hosting the mp3 for me.
The guitar is all Blackwood, indian rosewood appointments.
Here are a few pictures:

Very tasty, Alan - both the playing, and the guitar. Elegant simplicity.

My wife overheard this while I was listening to it, and said it made her think of cowboys...

Sounds great, Alan. That guitar sings. Nice playing, too.

Thank you to everyone for your kind remarks! I am very happy with the guitar. It was my first real effort at French Polishing to. Very labour intensive process but the finish leaves a beautiful luster and a vintage vibe I feel.

Thank you all again.

Cheers
