Questions about ZB Pedal Steel

Post by Daniel Aasen »

Hey everyone, was just wondering if anybody could give me some information on an old ZB pedal steel that was my dad's before he passed away. I am wondering if anyone could tell me the year it was made. I have a picture of me sitting at it when I was 2 yrs old in 1969, so I know it is older than that. It is serial #1157. I know Zane built it for my father. Thanks for any info.

Wow! That is a real beauty and has to be one of the cleanest original Zane Beck guitars I've seen.:D

It dates to Oct./Nov. of 1968. One of the last of the Zane built guitars. Extremely nice condition. #1141 was built in Sep. 3rd, 1968. The inlay scheme is not pre 1968 either.

Nice looking D-11-10!!!! That guitar was invoiced to your father on Nov. 23rd, 1968. I own a 66' ZB D-10 with those same inlays. Mmmmmm love those old ZB's!!!!

Thank You for the information Greg. That sounds right, I messed up, the picture of me sitting at it when I was 2yrs old was in 1969. I was born in 67. Wow thats great to actually know when it was invoiced. -Daniel

ZB Steel Guitar

Post by Francis Chamberlain »

Hey Kevin, I do appreciate your reply to my post relating to my ZB. I couldn't remember the date
that I order my guitar but I did order it through
"Dearth Guitar Studio" in Lima, Ohio and I would
say that date is correct also.
I still own the guitar and play it about every day.
Again, thanks...

Francais, how about posting a picture of that guitar for all of us ZB fans here? There are not many Zane guitars left.
