"The After Glow", Bishop Ronnie P. Hall

Post by Bishop Ronnie P Hall »

Hello my fellow steelers, :)
Like any great "life time achievement", there is a time of reflection. To look back and to think to one`s self," that, I was a part of something, much larger than myself. I find myself humbled by that. Then in the "Sundown" of my life, to be remembered for the years of service, loyalty, friendship, and to be a part of history, both then, and now. For that,I am truly greatful, and thankful. So look, and listen with me, at the sights, and sounds, of the events, and the music of the "Amazing Grace Ensemble", at the 2010 Sacred Strings Showcase, and "Induction of the Sacred Steel Legends", this past August 21st., 2010, at the Hilton Dana Center, in Toledo, Ohio. Be Blessed!

Ron,

Congratulations to you and all the others who were honored. And kudos to Del Grace for producing this event and doing such a fine job.

Hey, what's this "sundown" stuff? You are younger than me! You still have plenty of work to do and lots more love to share on this planet.

Warmest regards,

Bob

Hi Dave! (Hartley), My good friend,
Hope you enjoyed the slide show presentation. But I do need to clarify that this was Del Grace, and the Amazing Grace Praise Band, that provided the background music, and also produced the entire weekend event, along with his staff. I, and my family ensemble` were just participants on program, along with the induction into the Sacred Steel Hall of Fame induction services. A truly once in a lifetime opportunity, of which I am very, very, pleased, and proud. Thanks my friend for the words of encouragement. They mean much to me. Be blessed!

Aaaaah Crowbear, my friend!
Thanks for the encouragement. As I said to Dave Hartley, The background playback music, was performed by Del Ray Grace, and his group which is known as "The Amazing Grace Praise Band"! He, and his staff produced the entire weekend event. And as you noted, a very fine sacred steel style, of steel player, backed up with some very fine musicians, and vocalists, as well.
Thanks again, my friend.

Bob (Stone)! :D
My dearest of friends, thanks for the encouragement. Yes, I was very, very, proud to have been recognized, and inducted into the "Sacred Steel Hall of Fame". It was a highly emotionally charged event, and probably, a once in a lifetime opportunity! And I am thankful for your part, in my being where I am with this, for if you had not been as persistent, as you were while researching the background and history of this existent but hidden musical genre`, I would not have been receiving these honors today. So my dear friend, thank you, and be greatly blessed, for being there, in the divine scheme of things!

Congratulations Ron. It looks like it was a fun day. I didn't realize until recently just how many sacred steelers there are out there. Are you particularly blessed in your area or did steelers come from wide and far for the event?

Hi Al! (Brookes)
Sometimes we do seem be congregated, in some areas more than others. But believe it or not, the community of Sacred Steel, is existant through out a great deal of the U.S.A., including Alaska, the Bahamas, Canada, and Japan. Remember, this has existed unknown for over 70+ years to the general community. In the Great Lakes, and the southern areas, it seems to be the largest concentration.
Thanks for the inquiry!
Ron
