The May Day Orchestra-St. Louis, MO
Hey everyone, I thought i would let you know about a side project I'm in called The May Day Orchestra. This band is concept project. A Folk Rock Opera about the life of Ota Benga, a pygmy from the Congo that was brought to the states and put on display at the 1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair. It is layered with lots of pedal steel and lap steel guitar. Not your typical group, so if you like unorthodox music, especially with lots of steel, this may be of interest. You can check out our Kickstarter project which is funding our double vinyl release and get cds of us as well as other incentives by donating.

Thanks Daniel,
I play steel in a few different projects around town. Mostly Honky Tonk and Americana bands. This is the one band that really is different. I get to do more ambient pads with delays, overdrive, and EH POG which gives the steel a nice organ quality. We have a core of five people playing upright bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, steel, and drums as well as accordion, trumpet, violin and viola, and trombone. It is one of the most fun projects I have been in.

Only 3 days left for this project and we are less than $200.00 away from our goal!

Congrats!
I see you made your goal!
Does the 2LP set have extra tracks? Will it be generally available, or just through Kickstarter?
I plan to get a version, just wondering which? Or both!?

Hey Daniel,
The LP does not have extra tracks. Because of the length, it is on two albums at 45. It would not fit onto one 331/3 LP.
You should be able to get it through CD Baby, Amazon, or us directly. I know the vinyl is available at the local record stores in St. Louis.
