Portland Jam ****cancelled*****

Post by Larry Behm »

The club is closing Oct 30th and we would need more time to relocate the jam etc, so for now we have to cancel. New ownership is coming so we may be able to reschedule in the future.

Cool beans. I'll be playing in Portland at The Someday Lounge Nov. 6. Maybe I can talk the band into staying in town 'til after the jam.

Portland Steel Jam

Hey Larry! I had a blast at the previous jam and would like to reserve a table for my Paloma Stone Slides! I'd like to bring another bunch of samples for the players to try... and buy if they like 'em!
www.stoneslides.com is my Paloma Tone Bar and Bottleneck Slide web site

What a fantastic turn out earlier this year. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to this one. You all have a blast! - DJ -

Larry and Harley tell me we're using the same set list. I'll get together w/ Lynn and see if we can use his website to post all the number charts I did for the last (Mar 09) jam.

Those charts were the handiest thing. Thanks! I've been looking forward to this jam since I walked out to my car after the last one :)

And, not to hijack the thread, but just an open invite for all acoustic steel players to the weekly acoustic Gypsy Jazz jams at the Moon and Sixpence in the Hollywood district, 4-6pm every Saturday.

I'm so excited I can barely stand to be around myself! I just spent the last 45 or so minutes attempting to perfect the solo from A WAY TO SURVIVE. The neighborhood dogs must be quite happy with me!

Do you Seattle guys ever do this up here? Would love to get to the Portland jam but too much work to be done around the farm... I'm not proficient enough yet to jam on PSG but I sure would love to learn a bit by watching and listening.

a couple of us have wanted to , but we're not the best organizers it seems. It never gets past, "we should have one up here!". Portland seems to have a larger and more cohesive steel community than seattle does. :(

Ive been down to a couple and they are well worth the drive if you have the time.

come on down

Post by David Kellogg »

Hey Ben and Joe, you two should drive down together. If you want come down Saturday and you can stay at my place which is about 4 miles from the jam. We'll go over to Bob Mullers and pre jam saturday night. I'm sure Bob would love that.

With Duggy unable to attend we're gonna be a few notes short of a quorum, perhaps Mr. Behm will pick a few this time?

As stated above the jam is cancelled as the club is closing. Please contact as many steelers as you can even if they have already been notified, we do not want to miss anyone and have them make a trip to the club for nothing.
