Sho Bud Pro III Custom, Blonde Birdseye...SOLD!

Post by Lauren Ellis »

I'm selling this Pro III Custom.. it is just too much steel for this newbie! It has the aluminum necks, Emmons set up, and is in mint condition. The undercarriage is stock and not messed with at all. Vic at Bobbe's replaced some worn fingers on the E9th neck, and set it up..It has Wallace pickups. Serial number 16074. Original case. I am interested in a partial trade for a newer(small pedal, nylon tuners) Pro 1 as well as just selling it outright. Asking 2,500.

Nice Guitar....Nice Price

Lauren....Your guitar looks like the twin of mine that I bought a few years ago. Mine is the same except it has the hearts, diamonds, spades & clubs decal on the front apron. All blond birdseye with not a scratch on it....But I will say, I paid more for it than you are asking for yours. A very good buy for someone ...Jim

That is one beautiful piece of wood and incomprehensible mechanical thingys that you have there. From what I hear, the prettier ones sound even better than the black ones.
Best of luck on the sale, Lauren.

I hate to say this, Lauren. But you are wrong about it being too much steel for a newbie. I started out on a Sho- Bud Maverick over 30 years ago and in three months, I out grew it, and moved up to a Pro-III. Mine was black. That is a pretty guitar.

Ha,ha Tommy! I'll bet you practiced in those three months a bit more than I am doing at this moment in my life! Thanks for sharing your experience. Truth is..I bet I will be kicking myself for selling it in a few years, but right now, it's almost too heavy for me to move, so there's that issue too.

Hi, guys and gals..I guess I need to clarify the trade part of my search..I would love to find a single neck 10..I have gotten some offers for a SD, and those are still a tad too wide for me to reach the knees and floor pedals. Just a nice tidy newer- undercarriage Pro-1 or the like would be soooo sweet! Thanks for all the replies! Today I will inflict my old-style Pro-1 on an unsuspecting public in Daytona Beach, in lovely 75 degree weather, for Biketoberfest. Wish me,(and THEM) luck!! :0)

Beautiful night to be playing in Daytona. The weather is perfect. (I'm about 20 miles west of the beach) I'd love to come see y'all play, but the problem with Biketoberfest is that there are too many people on motorcycles there...it's been like that every year.
Have a great gig.

We had a great gig in Daytona! Perfect weather, nice crowd, most of them wearing clothes. My sweet old Pro-1 behaved itself, and we indulged ourselves in some fine vintage country music. I got to play the solo in "Together Again". Heaven. BTW..Merle is playing in Daytona on Feb 3rd.
