Great job as always David! You have such a wonderful touch and your tone and technique are flawless!
Just wondering what electronics you are using on this recording? Are you recording direct with a preamp, or mic-ing your amp. Any processing? It sounds like a tube amp of some kind. How about effects, reverb etc.? That steel sounds gorgeous to me!

Hi Steve

Thanks for your comments. I use nothing in the signal chain, just the Rains guitar, Telonics pro volume pedal, then into the iMac. I use a little mono compression and space designer reverb both which are plug ins part of the recording software which Logic Pro 8. The external sound card is Focusrite Saffire.

Purchase of tab

Post by Charles Curtis »

Hi David. I just purchased the tab and ran it off from my printer; thanks a lot, my friend. I had to go to another source to get through in order to make the purchase because, maybe it's just my computer, when I clicked on the above, it took me to your site but I kept getting "blocked".

After watching Mr. Hartley play Apartment #9 over and over again I have come to the conclusion that this man was born with a God given talent. I can only dream of playing like that no matter how much I practice. IMHO he belongs in a major studio. One more thing, his tabs are exactly how he plays them without any mistakes. My hats off to David Hartley.
May God bless you even more.....Ricky T.
