I have a Danelectro 9v adaptor , Zero Hum-DA-1 9.6v 200mA ,
Is it ok to use it with a Boss DS1 ?
The Boss has a decal that notes, the outside is + and the inside is - |

Bo,
It's my experience that if you plug in an adapter with the opposite hot/ground nothing happens. As long as the volts are the same I don't you'll blow anything up. As far as the milliamps, if they're not correct you'll get a lot of buzz, hum, etc.
If the ground/ hot is reversed One Spot makes an adapter that fits on the end of the power supply. Let me know, I have a couple laying around. I can meet up with you sometime during the week.
Of course, if the whole damn thing blows up, I take no responsibility!

Thanks for the info Jack.. I'm going to try it out later today and also read the spec sheet on the Boss box. regarding the mA spec.. the battery works fine but I want to hard wire it.
I had a good time at Hef's place, we picked alot & shared a lot of licks .. |

9V, tip negative adaptors are pretty universal these days. In other words, they all work. I have Boss, Ibanez, Danelectro, MXR effects on my 6-string board and they all take the same voltage/polarity/plug size. And I've used Boss, Ibanez, several other 9V power supplies with varying amperage. Never had a problem.

Thanks for the good advice Michael,
upon reading the "IMPORTANT NOTES" papers that came with the Boss unit
(isn't like like asking for directions?)  ,
it appears that the specs of the Boss pedal and Boss PSA adapter match the specs of the Danelectro unit.
While I already have a Boss PSA adapter built into my efx rack for a different pedal, I am thinking of getting a One Spot to lighten it up a bit.

I use a One-Spot for my pedal board. Oh, and of course, they'll all say "You must use only our adaptor." And of course you know that is BS.
