Rather than using the microphone function, can the Zoom H2 be patched directly into a PA's mixing board to record direct into the H2 ?

Ron, it has a 1/8" stereo input. So you just need the correct adapters to connect it.

My mixer has two RCA jack outs for a tape deck. My H-2 came with a cord that has 2 RCA plugs on one end and a 1/8" stereo plug on the other. So, it is simple. As Bill stated, all you need is a 1/8" stereo tipped plug on one end and plug into the input on the H-2 and the appropriate plugs on the other end to plug into your mixer outputs.

I have recorded on my H2 using a line from a mixer with excellent results.

Lesson learned when recording from mixer board:
Prior to actually recording, make sure to adjust the level of input meters on the H2.
Then you're good to go.
Thanks for the responses.
