Sand - Last Of My Hawaiian PSG Songs - E9 - No Drums!
Sand , last in a series of three Hawaiian songs on pedal steel, this one on the E9th tuning. I did use some bar slants and also some pedals. The E9th tuning is ideal for this song using the AB pedals down and E to Eb knee lever C6 pockets as well as the 1/2 A pedal (or split tuning) with Pedal B pockets. You can hear the hammer off at the 1st fret early on, making this a great tuning and key for this song.

Thanks Doug! One way that works is to engage the pedals but move the bar from a crooked to a straight position in so doing. Or just leave the bar a little crooked. The E9th tuning seems to have so many cool things hidden in it, like with the half "A" pedal riffs. And in some cases the sounds are so much clearer than on the C6 neck. No wonder this instrument has driven us all crazy!
