Warning****Hardcore Country***Three more
I think that it's about time I put some of this ladies songs on here for you Country Music lovers. Her name is Gena Roberts and she is one fine country singer. This project started out to make a CD for her mom because she didn't have any recordings of her daughter so we did this CD at my house on a VS-2480 Roland and Band in a Box. She loved Connie Smith so we did alot of Connie songs. A promoter heard them and somehow got them playing overseas and several have made it to the top five in Sweden's main Country Radio station and they are being played all over Europe and also out in west Texas I understand. Gena is currently working on a new Cd with all original songs and real muscians in a studio. Here are two of her cuts we did here at my house.---Henry---Hope these work

Henry,
That's some good stuff. It knocks a large hole in the anti-Band In A Box for recording arguments. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, but she's getting top five airplay on country radio in Europe, etc... what more evidence of success do they want? This kind of country won't get airplay here on top 40 country radio no matter who's on the sessions. She did a great job and so did you, the 2480, BIAB, and whoever else was involved.
I listened, I enjoyed, I listened over and over and continued to enjoy. I don't need any more than that from a country song. It all comes down to the instruments and equipment being in competent hands. To my ears, there's no question about where you fit in. Thanks for sharing it with us. Keep up the good work. I'd like to hear more.

Thanks again guys for the nice compliments. Gena's new album is really going to br fantastic and it's good hard core driving country music. The great Junior Knight is playing steel and some guitar and the equally great Reggie Rueffer on fiddle. All the songs were written by Chuck Cusimano, one of the best songs writers of this time I think. I'll post as to when it's available for purchase and how to get it. Here's a few more off her first album done here at my house. The first is Nobody but a fool, second is Invitation to The Blues and third is Where is my Castle. Hope yall enjoy---Henry

Rick Campell, yes, Band in A Box is not only a great practicing tool but also a great recording tool. It really does a lot more than I know how to do with. Thanks for the nice compliments also. I've heard some of your music and just great so it is an honor that you like my stuff.
Ricky Thibodeaux, most of the time I was using a Nashville 112 and coming out of the preamp and on a couple of songs, was using an LTD and using the booster jack out. Where is My Castle was the LTD and also was playing an 84 model Zum on that cut. Rains on all the other.
Jody, would be an honor to come play at one othe meetings, just give me a holler.
Thanks guys---Henry

Henry, Love your pickin'
I'm curious as to how you got turned on to the pedal steel. Can you please share some of your pedal steel influences? To me you sound kinda west coasty.... (and that's a good thing)
The licks you play at 1:26 on "Invitation" are really something to be proud of. Nice pedal work!
BTW, your Rains sounds superb.

Henry, Thanks for the compliment about my songs. I really appreciate it. That Gena sings so great, she can make any song sound great! You did a fine job on the home recording. The Steel, Fiddle, and I believe you even played some Guitar on it didn't you? Great job all around. I wish I had some "Teck-Nickel" skills for recording better demos at home, but I'm still using a cassette "jam-box' (Which, by the way eats tapes...). I go to "Roughwood Recording Studio" about every two months, and put a few demos on hard drive, and then onto a CD. Whatever works, I guess.
Anyway, Thanks for letting the people know about Gena and how great she sings!
Last I heard "Shuffle Back To Me" was climbing the charts quite well "OVER SEAS" I can't wait till the entire project is finished and mixed!! Thanks again!

They call it FILL 'cause it goes in the holes. Don't cover up the singer.

Hello Henry;
That is some great steel playing & fiddle also.
The sound is out front but not overdone - very nice!
Gena also does a great job singing too -
you should get all the work you want doing that type of music I would think. Thanks for posting these clips..
