Southeast Steel Guitar Club Meeting - OCT

Post by Billy Phelps »

The Southeast Texas Steel Guitar Club will meet on Oct 2nd at the Harris County Mud #81 Bldg.

There will not be a featured player. Everyone bring their steels to jam.

Scheduled dates for the remaining of the year are:
Nov - not meeting due to elections using the building.

Please keep Jody Sanders in your prayers. He was cut while moving a glass table and almost lost his left hand and even his life.
The doctors were able to re=attach tendons and he has been able to move his fingers some. Pray that Jody will have full recovery and be able to
enjoy picking.

Directions to the Harris County Mud # 81 building:
From I-10 W (Katy) :
Take Exit 745 Mason Rd - then take Mason Rd southbound towards the Park & Ride
You will continue on Mason to the 5th red light.
Turn right (westbound) on Cimarron Pkwy
Go to the 2nd street on the left (Hidden Canyon Rd) and turn left.
It is on the corner of Cimarron Pkwy & Hidden Canyon Rd

I am planning on being there, guitar and all; unless another storm heads this way.
Looking forward to seeing all of you there.
Jody S, get well quick, sorry to hear about your accident, but hang in there.

The timing for this meeting was right on the heels of the record setting, disasterous evacution of the Houston Gulfcoast area and with the terrible accident of Jody Sanders, who I understand is progressing well. Nonetherless, those in attendance were treated to some great vocals by Bill Helms, with Billy Phelps on guitar and Patti on bass. Egor on drums. Billy's fluid style and creativity on guitar is equal to his amazing steel playing. This was the steel show with no steel! But, it was several hours of great music. Thanks Billy and Patti for making it possible. Jody, get well guy! We missed you.
