My guess would be Russ Hicks on steel guitar.

It's Dick Curless and Curly Chalker, live at the Trucker Jamboree. It does sound like Curly was really trying to play a very commercial style ala Lloyd Green, at least on this one. He also plays some typically great C6. On "Outskirts Of Town" on the same record he plays a solo hot enough to stop Dick Curless in his tracks and forget the lyric! BTW, thanks to Gary Walker for turning me on to this recording.

Peter, you are right, that is Curly Chalker with Dick Curless. One more interesting detail about this album: Another great steel player is on Lead Guitar, Buzz Evans. :)
